Mike Hursh
General Manager
Mike was appointed the General Manager by the AC Transit Board of Directors in September 2015. He is a nine-year veteran of the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), serving as the Deputy Director, Operations for Maintenance and Security, and between 2012 and 2015 as the Chief Operating Officer. As COO, Mike directed all VTA transit operations, including bus and light rail, operator training, accessible services, planning, scheduling, and facility maintenance. Among his previous positions, he served as Deputy General Manager for Maintenance, Safety and Training for the San Francisco Municipal Railway. Mike is a champion for the environment and has a thorough understanding of public transportation in the Bay Area. He values customers, key stakeholders and employees who make transit systems work.
Sebron Flenaugh
Human Resources Executive Director
Sebron oversees AC Transit’s Human Resources function and is responsible for the District’s strategic direction and initiatives involving workforce development. Sebron is recognized as an empowering leader who motivates and collaborates with leadership teams. His diverse professional experiences include Mobil Oil Corporation, Target Corporation, The Home Depot, Kaiser and City of Sausalito, California. He has consulted to Samsung, Bluescape, Port of Oakland, and CSU Maritime. Sebron holds two Bachelor’s Degrees in Business Administration in Transportation and Logistics, and Economics. He equally holds two Master’s Degrees in Transportation & Engineering Management, and Organization Development.
Justin T. Augustine IV
Youth Team Coordinator
Justin has extensive experience in transit management and community engagement, which has been instrumental in his role at AC Transit. With over 13 years of experience across various cities and sectors, he brings a diverse perspective to strategic initiatives, particularly in workforce development. His educational background in Transportation Science, along with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Political Science, complements his professional expertise. Moreover, his PMP certification underscores his capability in project management, which is crucial for executing complex transportation projects. Justin’s contribution is vital as AC Transit fosters partnerships and seeks to enhance its services within the community.
Youth Participants
As a dedicated lifeguard for Oakland Parks and Recreation, I ensure the safety of young swimmers during the summer months. My commitment extends beyond my job as I enjoy engaging with the community through TikTok and taking leisurely walks. Drawn to AC Transit’s esteemed reputation, I aspire to join their team, valuing the genuine and heartfelt interactions with the staff and RTS Team. My experience with the program has only deepened my appreciation for the organization’s sincere dedication to service
As a Journeyman-level mechanic at AC Transit, I epitomize dedication through my work with Zero Emission Buses (ZEB). Originally hailing from Tracy in the Central Valley, I bring to my job not only a love for mechanics but also enjoy it as a hobby. My attraction to AC Transit stemmed from the family environment and the opportunities it presented. Joining the ZEB program was a step towards enhancing my expertise, and my favorite aspect of the program is witnessing the collective growth and unity of the team.
As a dedicated BART station agent in San Francisco, California, I am committed to technical solutions that help passengers. My interest in youth innovation was sparked by the ZEB program, which allows youths to participate within the Bay Area community and understand zero-emission buses (ZEB). To me, AC Transit means a safe, community-oriented, and family-friendly environment. The highlight of my experience was a visit to an interactive training center, where I thrived in a collaborative team environment.
